Fruit smoothies are the perfect treat for a hot summer day. You can enjoy them as a healthy dessert, a sweet midday snack, or even as breakfast on the go. They are quick to make, and are an excellent way to pack a ton of nutrients into a single glass. Whether you are looking for something to compliment your lunch, or for a smoothie filling enough to replace a meal, you’ve come to the right place. What follows is a variety of fruit, juice, and soymilk combinations to make vitamin-rich, quick, and delicious vegan smoothies!

Note:

For each of the following smoothie recipes, all you have to do is combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high until smooth and creamy. Each recipe yields two tall glasses of smoothie.

1. Strawberry Orange Banana Smoothie

This smoothie is high in Vitamin C, Potassium, Vitamin B6, Calcium, and Manganese.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Vanilla Soymilk
  • 1 Cup Orange Juice
  • 1 Large, Ripe Banana
  • 5-6 Fresh Strawberries
  • 4-6 Ice Cubes

Note:

  1. If you find that this smoothie is not sweet enough, you can add just a drizzle of maple syrup and re-blend.

2. Mango Passion Smoothie

Mangoes are an excellent source of Vitamins A and C, and are also a good source of Vitamin B6. Their sweet flavour makes this smoothie great as a dessert.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups Vanilla Soymilk
  • 1 Large Mango
  • 4-6 Ice Cubes

Notes:

  1. To pump up the protein level of this smoothie and make it a meal replacer, add in one small package of mango-flavoured tofu and blend.
  2. If you want an added boost of mango flavour, substitute some of the ice cubes with pieces of frozen mango.

3. Quick and Simple Strawberry Orange Smoothie

A simple, light smoothie, high in Vitamins C and A, great for accompanying meals for an added boost of nutrition.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups Orange Juice
  • 6-8 Strawberries
  • 4-6 Ice Cubes

Note:

  1. Add a little pizzazz to this smoothie by throwing in a handful of frozen blueberries. Not only will this enhance the flavour, it will also add Iron and Vitamin K.

4. Mixed Berry Vitamin Boost Smoothie

The perfect way to boost your energy and your immune system by loading up on vitamins and nutrients! This smoothie is incredibly rich in Vitamins C, A, and K, as well as Iron, protein, Calcium, Manganese, antioxidants, and dietary fibre – it doesn’t get much better than that!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Vanilla Soymilk
  • ½ Cup Pomegranate Juice
  • ½ Cup Blueberry Juice
  • 2-3 Strawberries
  • ½ Cup Raspberries
  • ½ Cup Blueberries
  • 1 Pkg. (150g) Blueberry Tofu
  • 4-6 Ice Cubes

Note:

  1. Remember, if you want to get the most out of these smoothies, it’s important that you use as much fresh fruit as possible. If you do decide to use frozen fruit, always go with the unsweetened variety, and instead add sweetness to your smoothie with vanilla soymilk or a drizzle of maple syrup.
